»In fact, Brutalist aesthetics pervaded the subsequent crisis of late modernism even, and to no small degree.«

Brutalismus - Architekturen zwischen Alltag, Poesie und Theorie was a architecture-conference held in 2012 in Berlin. As historical research of the post-war modernism seems to have been long out of focus, the conference was intended to be a starting point for a discussion on the topic, and an update on the position and connections of this architectural program.
Matthias Hübner, with Studio Lukas Feireiss, developed the overall identity and graphic design of the conference, focusing on a few key aspects of Brutalism (raw material, modulor system of Le Corbusier, etc). For the signature a typeface was created based on the modulor rules of Le Corbusier, it was then lasercut into linoleum and used a print material. These prints then served as the basis for the posters, and as background for the whole design.
